Karen Rehder, M.D., FACOG

Karen Rehder, M.D., FACOG is a board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist and surgeon. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1988. After graduating from St. Louis University school of Medicine, her post graduating training was at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Rehder has been practicing in Pittsburgh since 1986. She opened her own practice, Womens Gynecologic Associates, in 1997. Dr. Rehder was voted one of the top three choices for physician referral in the Pittsburgh area in 2004. Her practice is limited to gynecology office care and surgery with special interest in the areas of hormone therapy, birth control, osteoporosis care, urinary incontinence, and preventative health care for women. Dr. Rehder’s dedication to women’s health care has kept her at the forefront of gynecological and surgical technology. She has been a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Society since 1980.

Bethany Stewart, PA-C

Bethany Stewart, PA-C joined Womens Gynecologic Associates in February 2005. She is a board certified physician assistant with a Bachelor of Science from Carlow College and a Masters of Physician Studies from Chatham College.

Ann Hodgin, CRNP

Ann Hodgin, CRNP joined the practice in 2007 after falling in love with women’s health care while doing a 12 week clinical rotation with WGA. Ann is a nurse practitioner with a Registered Nurse degree from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Carlow College, and a Masters of Science in Nursing from LaRoche College. She is board certified and a member of the AANP as well as a member of the PNA.

Amber Cvetich, PA-C

Amber Cvetich, PA-C joined WGA in 2009. She is a graduate from Gannon University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. She is board certified by the NCCPA and a member of PSPA and AAPA.

Sandra Hazel

Sandra Hazel, office manager, has been associated with Dr. Rehder since 1995. Sandy has been managing WGA’s office since 1997. She has over twenty-five years of experience in the medical field including prior work as office manager of The Pittsburgh Laser Center and pharmacy technician/secretary at St. Francis Medical Center.

Carol Agate

Carol Agate, medical assistant, joined WGA in 2009. Carol is certified in Secretarial Science from The Sawyer School of Business and is starting her education towards a nursing degree this summer.

Rachel Sapienza

Rachel Sapienza, senior medical assistant, joined Womens Gynecologic Associates in 2003. Rachel has many years of work experience, mainly in the educational and medical fields.

Office Policies

Appointments
Please arrive for your appointment no more than 5-10 minutes early. If you are a new patient or have information that has changed (ie: new insurance, new address, etc) try to come 10-15 minutes early in order to fill out necessary paperwork.

Please have your current health insurance card with you at the time of your exam.

Annual Exams
We ask for your cooperation with annual exams. At the time of your annual, we will have you self-address a post card appointment “reminder” and a patient information sheet. (You will receive your reminder card 3 months before your annual exam is due.) Please call to schedule your next annual exam as soon as your receive your reminder card.

At the present time, there is a shortage of female gynecologists. We have a staff of one physician, two physician assistants, and a nurse practitioner. Our health care providers are exceptionally well trained and professional. Therefore, we alternate annual exams between Dr. Rehder and one of our health care practitioners.

Problem visits can be scheduled very quickly due to our policy of scheduling annual visits 3 months in advance.

Cancellations
Cancellations less than 48 ours before a visit will incur a $30 cancellation fee. However, there will be no cancellation fee for inclement weather, illness of self, or death/illness of an immediate family member.
